About Charles Mann Photography


Charles Mann has been a full time freelance and stock photographer for over ten years. He specializes in garden and horticultural images, local New Mexico culture and southwestern scenic landscapes. He also collects images of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

He has photographed two books; Secret Gardens of Santa Fe by Sydney Le Blanc, ( Rizolli - 1997) and Viva Guadalupe by Jacqueline Dunnington
( Museum of New Mexico Press - 1997 ).

Charles has worked on assignments for many magazines , including Horticulture, Organic Gardening, Country Living Gardener, Sunset, Fine Gardening, Phoenix Home and Garden, Better Homes and Gardens, the Santa Fean and for publishers such as Conran Octopus.

His stock photographs have been seen in scores of books and magazines published by Houghton Mifflin, Storey Communications, Time-Life, Landsdown Publishing ( Australia ) , Michael Friedman Publishers, Thomas Nelson ( UK), and others. He has published photo essays from Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Majorca, Ireland, Alaska and most major cities in the western United States.

Fulcrum Publishing has produced calendars featuring his photos exclusively since 1995. He has presented public programs to groups as large as 400 in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon and Washington. For several years, Charles led tours of Santa Fe gardens for groups from the Smithsonian, Horticulture Magazine, the Garden Conservancy, the Chicago Botanic Garden and others.

He is working on two tentative book projects, and just returned from a trip to Mexico City to shoot photos of the Virgin of Guadalupe Feast Day.
