Cabezon Peak is a volcanic plug near the village of San Louis, New Mexico, and is the largest of about  fifty such formations in an area of BLM land on the north side of Mount Taylor near the muddy Rio Puerco. It is a popular hiking area only about forty miles from Albuquerque.
