Pecos National Monument, near the village of Pecos a few miles east of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a large pueblo ruin which contains a reconstructed underground chamber called a kiva, as well as the shell of the church buit by the colonial Spanish. Here the adobe glows above a recent covering of winter snow.
